Anthropic IPO Filing Could Come as Soon as Friday
Anthropic may make its IPO prospectus public as soon as Friday. This would give investors their first detailed look at the company's finances and risks. The filing would bring the company closer to a possible stock market listing in November, although the timing could change because of market conditions and other factors.

Anthropic could make its IPO prospectus public as soon as Friday. This would give investors their first detailed look at the artificial intelligence company's finances and risks. The filing would bring the company closer to a possible stock market listing in November, although the timing could change because of market conditions and other factors.
Three people who know about the company's plans told Yahoo Finance that this was a possible timeline. Anthropic did not respond when the publication asked for comment. A public filing would also show how interested investors are in a major AI stock offering, as markets become more careful about the large amounts of money companies in this sector are spending.
Anthropic privately sent a draft registration statement to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in June. SEC rules say that companies using this private filing process must make their registration documents public at least 15 calendar days before they begin their official roadshow to meet investors.
Making the documents public would give everyday investors their first chance to see the details behind Anthropic's fast growth, as well as its risks and costs. Filing the prospectus is one step in the process. It does not mean the offering will happen on a set schedule.
Growth meets infrastructure costs
Anthropic earned $16.3 billion in revenue during the first six months of 2026 and reported a net loss of more than $80 billion, according to a Tuesday report by The Wall Street Journal cited by Yahoo Finance. The company is spending billions of dollars on AI infrastructure needed to train and run its Claude models.
Its computing resources include work with Google and Amazon, along with rented graphics processing unit (GPU) capacity from SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center. If Anthropic makes its registration documents public, investors will be able to examine these costs.
The Financial Times reported that Anthropic told investors at its San Francisco office last week that its revenue reached $16.8 billion in the third quarter, up from $11.5 billion in the second quarter. The newspaper also said the company was profitable when measured on an adjusted basis, which excludes certain costs and items.
Yahoo Finance said Wall Street expects Anthropic could raise as much as $100 billion at a company valuation of $2 trillion, citing earlier reporting by Reuters. These figures are expectations, not a confirmed fundraising target announced by Anthropic.
Investors weighing the AI trade
The possible offering comes as the IPO market faces new pressure. Earlier this week, shares in South Korean data center company Elice fell 32% on their first day of trading after it raised $151 million. Nvidia-backed Firmus Grid put its plans for a public listing on hold earlier this month after investors objected to its proposed valuation. Other companies have also delayed listings because of market conditions, Yahoo Finance reported.
Investors have also been closely examining publicly traded AI companies as they question how much money is needed to build computing capacity. Yahoo Finance pointed to CoreWeave, where investors have raised concerns about whether future revenue will be enough compared with the company's debt. This suggests investors are now asking whether growth can cover the costs, rather than supporting every company linked to AI without careful review.
The decision could affect companies beyond Anthropic. One person familiar with the plans told Yahoo Finance that the expected size of the offering means its timing could matter to other companies planning to go public in the coming weeks.
According to Yahoo Finance, Anthropic has gained a place in the business market with its Claude chatbot, Claude Code coding tool and Claude Cowork. If the company makes its filing public, investors will learn more about the business as they consider both its commercial growth and its infrastructure costs.
Rival OpenAI was initially expected to launch an IPO this year, but it is now expected to enter the public markets in early 2027, Yahoo Finance reported. Anthropic's next step depends on whether it makes its S-1 registration statement public as soon as Friday. The company has not announced a confirmed date for its stock market listing.
