Google Cloud is now the only major cloud provider that offers Google's Gemini, Anthropic's Claude, and OpenAI's models on the same platform. Three OpenAI models are available starting today: GPT-6 Astra, built for demanding tasks such as coding and research; GPT-6.1 Sol, a cheaper option that offers similar performance; and GPT-6 Luna, a fast and low-cost option for everyday tasks.

The models are first being offered in a private preview to selected business customers, and businesses can sign up now. The models will also be available through Gemini for Business and Google Antigravity. Customers will receive one bill through Google Cloud, and the charges will count toward their existing contracts. Google says it will not use customer data to train its models.

The move shows an ongoing conflict at Google: the computing power Google uses to serve cloud customers also helps its biggest AI rivals, including OpenAI. This creates competition with Google's own Gemini team for computing resources. Reports say this conflict over resources even helped push Noam Shazeer, a researcher associated with a two-billion-dollar valuation, back to OpenAI.
