AI Price Prediction: We Asked 3 AI Models What Chainlink Could Be Worth by 2028
Three AI models predicted how much Chainlink could be worth in 2028. Two predicted a price above $25, but the reasons behind the lowest forecast may be the most convincing.
Chainlink (CRYPTO: LINK) is trading at about $12.36. Three AI models—ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude—predict that LINK could roughly double in price by 2028, bringing it to around $25. That would be a gain of nearly 102%. This is especially notable because the token is now 76.5% below its all-time high of $52.70, which it reached in May 2021.
During the two weeks leading up to October 20, LINK traded between $11.52 and $14.04. Its 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) closed at 30, suggesting that selling pressure may be reaching its highest point. By comparison, Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) is trading at around $83,316, while Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) is worth about $2,461. The big question is whether Chainlink can rise above $25 before the end of 2028.
Three AI Models Predict Chainlink Could Double by 2028
| Model | End-2026 Price Range | End-2026 Most Likely | End-2028 Price Range | End-2028 Most Likely | Chance Above $25 | Value of 1,000 LINK in 2028 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grok | $9.80 to $16.40 | $13.75 | $8.50 to $34 | $22.40 | 52% | $22,400 |
| ChatGPT | $8 to $18 | $14 | $10 to $45 | $28 | 55% | $28,000 |
| Claude | $9 to $18 | $13.50 | $8 to $45 | $24 | 45% | $24,000 |
If LINK reached $25, its market value would be about $19.2 billion, based on the 766.8 million coins currently in circulation. Its market value is now around $9.5 billion, making it the 16th-largest cryptocurrency.
However, Chainlink also has tokens that have not yet entered circulation, which makes the calculation more complicated. The total supply cannot exceed 1 billion LINK. As more tokens enter circulation, Chainlink's overall value would need to be higher for each LINK to reach $25. At the current price, its fully diluted market value, which assumes all tokens are in circulation, is around $12.4 billion.
LINK last traded above $25 in September 2025. Before that, it reached $27.87 in August 2025 and then peaked at $25.65 a month later.
Revenue from On-Chain Activity Could Influence LINK's Price by 2028
All three AI models agree that Chainlink's future price will depend largely on whether its activity on the blockchain generates revenue that leads to people buying LINK on the open market. News about new partnerships matters most when it causes more people to buy the token.
For example, on October 19, Archax began using Chainlink Data Streams, a service that provides fast price information, to price GOVY. GOVY is its tokenized U.S. Treasury product, which is used for lending and as collateral on the blockchain. Tokenized Treasuries are government bonds represented digitally on a blockchain.
On October 16, another company, Pacific Meta, began using CCIP, Chainlink's system for moving tokens and data between different blockchains. It also listed Chainlink's Automated Compliance Engine, which automatically applies rules that help ensure tokenization follows regulations in Japan. About $2 billion in total value is locked in smart contracts connected to Chainlink. This means that money has been deposited into these blockchain-based programs.
The Chainlink Reserve is important because it connects this business activity to LINK itself. The reserve collects LINK using revenue earned from businesses outside the blockchain and fees from activity on the blockchain. Payment Abstraction also changes those earnings into LINK. This means that even when customers pay with other tokens, their payments can still create demand for LINK. Regular purchases like these are important for connecting Chainlink's business activity to the token's market price.
Where ChatGPT, Grok and Claude Disagree About $25
ChatGPT is the most optimistic of the three models. It predicts that LINK will most likely be worth $28 in 2028 and gives it a 55% chance of rising above $25. It sees LINK as a risky long-term investment whose value depends on the technology supporting tokenized assets. Grok focuses more on LINK's price swings. It predicts that LINK will finish 2028 at $22.40, below $25, but still gives it a 52% chance of briefly reaching $25 because its price tends to change sharply.
Claude is more cautious, estimating a 45% chance that LINK will reach $25. It points to Chainlink's history of performing worse than Bitcoin and Ethereum during market recoveries. Claude also notes that some business partnerships may allow companies to buy tokens outside public markets, which could reduce the effect of those partnerships on LINK's public market price.
Performance over the past year supports this concern. LINK fell 29.8%, compared with Bitcoin's 23.4% decline. However, LINK rose 46.2% over the last 90 days, doing better than both major cryptocurrencies during that period.
The lower price forecasts share a common concern: Chainlink's business could grow successfully without its token gaining much value, especially if the wider cryptocurrency market is weak. Grok's worst-case forecast is $7.10, while Claude's is $8. ChatGPT predicts a possible low of $4 to $6, with $5 as its worst-case estimate. LINK fell as low as $7 in June 2026.
Can Chainlink Trade Above $25 Before the End of 2028?
We think LINK has a slightly less than 50% chance of rising above $25 before the end of 2028. Our view is closer to Claude's 45% estimate than ChatGPT's 55% estimate. The models make reasonable arguments, but reaching $25 would require a large increase in LINK's market value. Bitcoin currently accounts for 59.6% of the cryptocurrency market, and its strong position could limit the room for smaller cryptocurrencies to grow.
To move toward $25, LINK first needs to recover its recent high of $14.04 and then rise above its September peak of $15.77. Continued buying by the Chainlink Reserve, along with partnerships such as those with Archax and Pacific Meta, will be important for building upward momentum. If LINK closes a month above $15.77, that could support ChatGPT's optimistic prediction. But if it closes below the June low of around $7, Claude's lower-price forecast could become more likely.
