CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Advanced Cosmetic in Norwood uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help plan procedures such as brow lifts, nose surgery, and full facelifts. The goal is to give each patient results that look natural and fit their needs.
Doctors at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center are using AI during patient consultations. The practice says this is part of its approach to helping patients learn about their options.

Dr. Jon Mendelson said the goal is to help patients understand their choices and what happens during surgery. Doctors show them exactly where they make cuts and how they work on the structures beneath the skin.
“We’ve always been about education and trying to make sure patients understand the opportunities that they have,” Mendelson said. “What we’re doing is we’re walking literally into the face, and we’re demonstrating for patients where incisions are.”
Mendelson explained that facelift surgery focuses on tightening deeper layers of tissue instead of simply pulling the skin tight. “This is called the SMAS, or Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System,” he said. “It’s like a fascial layer, a connective tissue layer. I tell people, like a boneless chicken breast, that it is a white fibrous layer. We want to tighten that. We do not want to pull and stretch the skin. We want to make sure we’re fundamentally tightening it.”
He also described a facelift method that works even deeper. “The next step with a facelift is actually going beneath the SMAS,” Mendelson said. “It is called the deep plane.” He said surgeons release certain attachments in this area to help create a natural-looking result. This method can treat facial folds, sagging skin along the jaw, the jawline itself, and the neck.
The practice said it uses AI during consultations to help guide treatment planning and give patients the most natural-looking results possible. Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center is celebrating 25 years in business. Patients can call (513)-351-3223 for more information.
