OpenAI brings latest GPT to Google Cloud, completes big three cloud push - CHOSUNBIZ

OpenAI's artificial intelligence (AI) model GPT will be available on Google Cloud, following its launch on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft's (MS) Azure. This means OpenAI now uses all three of the world's major cloud platforms to offer its AI models. The move is seen as a way to reach more businesses and increase sales of its AI models.
OpenAI said on October 22 that it will offer its latest AI models and tools powered by Codex on Google Cloud's Model Garden. Model Garden lets developers find, choose, and use different AI models. The service is expected to become fully available in the coming weeks.
With this partnership, businesses and developers that use Google Cloud will be able to use OpenAI models in the development systems they already have. They can use the models to make software development easier and build AI agents that can carry out complex tasks automatically.
Business customers can buy OpenAI models through Google Cloud Marketplace. They can also use money they have already committed to spending on Google Cloud to pay for these models. This means they can start using OpenAI's latest models without moving to a different cloud service.
OpenAI plans to combine its AI models with Google Cloud's tools for controlling access, managing data in one place, and providing powerful computing resources. The goal is to meet businesses' needs for security and control over their data. Businesses will be able to control who can access sensitive data and how it is used while applying AI models to their work.
OpenAI models will also be available through Google's AI development platforms, Antigravity and Gemini Agent. This will let business customers choose and use AI models based on the type of work they need to do and their goals.
OpenAI co-founder and President Greg Brockman said, "Google Cloud is an important platform for building AI agents, developing software, and helping businesses use AI." He added, "This partnership is an important step because it lets customers use our most capable models and Codex in the development systems they already have."
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said, "We are focused on giving customers a wide range of choices, including OpenAI models, so they can choose the right model for each task." He added, "This will help them get the best results while reducing costs."
OpenAI has already offered its AI models through Azure, a key cloud platform partner of Microsoft. In June, it also began offering its latest AI models and Codex through AWS. The partnership with Google Cloud expands the ways customers can access OpenAI's AI models through the major cloud platforms. However, Microsoft remains OpenAI's main cloud partner.
