[Financial News] BNK is moving forward with plans to build a generative artificial intelligence (AI) platform that all its affiliated companies can use. It has chosen Samsung SDS as its preferred bidder.
According to financial industry sources on October 22, BNK held a committee meeting to evaluate proposals in September. After carefully reviewing each company's technical skills, platform stability, and ability to carry out the project, it chose Samsung SDS as its preferred bidder. The two sides are now discussing the project's details, including what work it will cover and how the system will be set up.
The project aims to create a shared generative AI system for the entire BNK group and use it for different business tasks. It is also expected to prevent each affiliated company from spending money on the same things separately and to help more parts of the group use AI.
BNK plans to introduce generative AI services in stages. The platform will support tasks such as searching for job responsibilities and rules, lending, foreign exchange, groupware, and finding internal company information.
BNK will also set up rules and processes to manage risks that may come from using AI. It plans to expand across all affiliated companies the results of consulting carried out with the holding company, Busan Bank, and BNK Kyongnam Bank at the center. It will also work with Kim & Chang to create management standards that follow financial regulators' guidelines and reflect changes in regulations.
BNK also plans to build an "AI Governance Portal." This portal will manage every stage of AI services, from planning and development to evaluation, testing, and operation. The goal is to make AI use safer and more transparent.
