Swedish gov't said to ban ChatGPT, Claude
Sweden's government offices have stopped employees from using ChatGPT and Claude on their work computers. Staff must use Microsoft Copilot instead because it is the only AI tool officially approved for government work. Swedish Radio's news program, Sveriges Radio Ekot, reported this on Friday.
The radio report pointed to a message posted by Digitalization Director Mikael Wettercrantz on the government offices' internal website. He warned that using AI services without an official agreement could have "consequences for our information security." This means such use could put government information at risk.
According to the report, Sweden's Tax Agency and the National Government Service Centre have also introduced similar rules limiting which AI tools employees can use.
