IREN Stock Gains as Report Names Anthropic as Cloud Client
This article first appeared on GuruFocus.
IREN (NASDAQ:IREN), the AI cloud services and data center provider, rose 3.67% in premarket after The Information reported that Anthropic has an unannounced multiyear cloud deal with the company. Neither company had commented.
The report revives a question from IREN's August earnings call. Co-CEO Daniel Roberts listed new multiyear cloud contracts with Cohere, Perplexity and others, plus a leading frontier AI lab whose name we're not able to disclose just yet. IREN hasn't said whether Anthropic is that customer.
The Information said Anthropic's build-out increasingly relies on current and former bitcoin miners, naming IREN alongside Hut 8 (NASDAQ:HUT), TeraWulf (NASDAQ:WULF) and the privately held Nscale. Anthropic is set to meet prospective investors on October 14 ahead of its planned IPO, according to Bloomberg.
