Meta Unveils High-Performance AI Models, Challenges OpenAI, Anthropic

Meta unveiled its new artificial intelligence (AI) models, **‘Muse Wonder’** and the high-performance version **‘Muse Wonder-Full’**, on the 12th (local time). Following the positive market response to its personal AI agent **‘Muse’**, released last month, the company is intensifying competition with OpenAI and Anthropic by introducing its own high-performance models to support it. These models are scheduled to be integrated into **‘Muse’**.
On the 12th (local time), Meta described the new models as **“the most powerful AI models in the company’s history.”** They will initially be offered to paid subscribers upon integration into **‘Muse’**. Meta stated, **“After overhauling our AI strategy 14 months ago and rebuilding our foundation, we have now reached a stage where we are expanding the boundaries of state-of-the-art models.”**
The **‘Muse Wonder’** model includes an **‘Active Memory’** feature, enabling it to remember key information from past conversations and retrieve it when needed. It also focuses on breaking down complex tasks into multiple steps, attempting alternative methods if issues arise, and sustaining long-duration workflows.
Performance evaluations showed significant improvements over Meta’s existing models. In the **‘SWE-Marathon’** long-term software development assessment, **Muse Wonder-Full** scored 57.5 points, outperforming Anthropic’s **Claude Opus 5.5** (46.3 points) and OpenAI’s **GPT-6 Astra** (42.5 points). In the **‘DeepSWE 1.1’** long-term coding evaluation, it achieved 79.0 points, surpassing **Claude Opus 5.5** (74.2 points) and **GPT-6 Astra** (74.1 points). For conversation context retention in **‘MemoryBench’**, **Muse Wonder** scored 85.6 points and **Muse Wonder-Full** 85.5 points.
Meta had previously been perceived as lagging behind OpenAI and Anthropic in the race for cutting-edge AI models. However, the unexpected success of its personal AI agent **‘Muse’**, released last month, shifted the momentum. According to Bloomberg News, **‘Muse’** topped the free app charts on the U.S. Apple App Store and Google Play immediately after launch, recording 6.6 million cumulative downloads and 1.8 million daily active users (DAU) within a month.
Meta aims to leverage this success to regain an edge in model performance competition. The market responded positively, with Meta’s stock price rising approximately 4% during trading that day.
