Meta launches Muse Wonder as top-tier AI rivals, boosts stock - CHOSUNBIZ

Meta unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) model with performance on par with the top-tier AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic. The model strengthens agent features that can handle complex tasks ranging from coding to legal, finance, and health.
Meta said on the 12th (local time) that it launched new AI models "Muse Wonder" and "Muse Wonder Full."
The two models were developed by Meta's Mega-scale Intelligence Lab (MSL) using the computing infrastructure of its in-house gigawatt (GW)-class data center Prometheus. The company said the models deliver performance on par with industry-leading models in carrying out tasks in specialized fields including software coding as well as law, finance, and health.
Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said, "If Muse Spark was our first model family, the much larger and more advanced Muse Wonder has taken us to the cutting edge."
Alexander Wang, Meta's chief AI officer (CAIO), also told Bloomberg News, "These models are truly state-of-the-art," and "I am confident they are fully competitive with the best models on the market today."
AI model evaluation firm ArtificialAnalysis set Muse Wonder's intelligence index (AAII) at 52 points. That ranks it tied for seventh, behind Anthropic's Claude Fable 5.1, OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra, and Google's Gemini 4 Argon (each 53 points).
The high-performance model Muse Wonder Full scored 56 points, ranking tied for second behind the leader, Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 (58 points). Meta's Muse Spark 1.3, released six weeks ago, scored 48 points.
Muse Wonder focuses in particular on agent operation and comes with an Active Memory feature that remembers conversation history with users, as well as preferences and habits. It also includes an Active Focus feature that, even when errors occur while performing complex and ambiguous tasks, tries alternative approaches on its own and completes the goal to the end.
Meta plans to apply Muse Wonder to the AI agent app Muse as well. The company said it also strengthened safety, including preventing personal data leaks and bolstering defenses against cyberattacks.
Developers can access the models starting today through application programming interfaces (APIs) and coding tools. However, Muse Wonder Full is available only to paid subscribers.
Boosted by the announcement, Meta's stock closed at $742.96 on the day, up 3.38% from the previous trading day.
