Workday gains on Anthropic partnership, unveils new AI assistant
Workday WDAY said it was partnering with Anthropic ANTHROPIC to bring its Claude AI assistant into human resources and finance workflows, alongside a new version of its Sana AI assistant designed to carry out tasks across the company's software. WDAY stock was up ~2% in Tuesday premarket trading.
The partnership will connect Claude with Workday's Sana agents and business data, allowing users to analyze information, take actions, and approve work across both platforms. Workday said its existing permissions, business rules, and audit controls would remain in place.
Workday introduced a new Sana experience that lets employees use natural language prompts to complete tasks such as approving expenses, requesting leave, and managing meetings.
The company also unveiled Sana Concierge, an AI service agent designed to handle employee requests involving payroll, onboarding, password resets, and application access. It is available to early adopters and is expected to become generally available in the first quarter of 2027.
