PHILADELPHIA (CNN) - The Philadelphia Police Department said an Anthropic AI model gave it a false tip about a murder investigation in July.

The department said the tip came in through PhillyUnsolvedMurders.com but was flagged as spam.

Anthropic told the Philadelphia Police Department about the incident this month, the department said.

The department said it’s “unacceptable” that the company took so long to detect and report what happened.

Anthropic said it has been investigating, “Claude submitting a sensitive form on a real website when it should not have.”
