OpenAI says ex-employee took unreleased device files to Apple

OpenAI submitted a new filing on Wednesday alleging that the employee who left for Apple Inc. transferred over a hundred "highly confidential files" about "at least one unreleased OpenAI device" to his personal accounts.
The employee, who previously worked for Apple before joining OpenAI, where he spent six months working before returning again to Apple, is said to have taken files that include "detailed images" as well as "confidential engineering and manufacturing data" about the unreleased device. The ChatGPT company revealed that the former employee is said to have presented OpenAI's product plans to Apple's senior leadership, including its vice president of operations in Asia.
"That presentation appears to have happened months ago-and now, armed with that information, Apple is making a new push into AI-enabled products," OpenAI stated, adding that it is "very concerned" that its "trade secret" could be used by Apple's engineers to shape upcoming products based on OpenAI's work.
