OpenAI computing chief Sachin Katti to leave company next month: report
OpenAI's OPENAI head of computing capacity, Sachin Katti, will leave the AI company next month after about a year in the role, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.
Katti is expected to remain as an adviser, while Uday Ruddarraju, a former xAI executive who was promoted to chief technology officer of computing capacity this summer, is set to take over the company's computing strategy, the report said.
OpenAI has projected spending about $750B on computing power through 2030, up from an earlier estimate of roughly $600B. Another executive overseeing the company's data center expansion left over the summer.
The departure comes days after David Robinson, a former leader of the company's Safety Systems team, resigned last week and warned that the industry prioritizes speed over security, adding to calls for stronger safeguards as AI development advances.
