Providing supervisors' refusal to confirm serious cheating
사진 확대 If you are caught wearing smart glasses equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) functions in the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), the test will be invalidated and your qualifications for the CSAT will be suspended the following year. Simply carrying smart glasses in the test site will invalidate the test.
On the 15th, the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation unveiled the "2027 University Academic Proficiency Test Examination Precautions". According to the precautions, if smart glasses are not submitted before the start of the first period and worn during the test, they are considered serious irregularities under the CSAT management regulations, and the test will be invalidated and the qualification for the exam will be suspended for one year next year.
Even if smart glasses are brought into the test site or simply carried, the test will be invalidated. Refusing to comply with the supervisor's request to check the glasses may result in serious cheating through deliberation. Test takers must take off their glasses and place them on their desks and cooperate with the confirmation process at the request of the supervisor.
The move comes after a series of cheating using smart glasses in recent college entrance exams. On the 3rd, a test-taker wearing smart glasses was caught in an essay examination in University of Seoul's natural science field and was suspended for three years. On the 10th, a test-taker wearing smart glasses was also caught in Yonsei University's natural and integrated math essay test.
The Ministry of Education said on the same day that it plans to send "Cautionary Note for Suneung Exam Supervisors" to four-year universities nationwide, including how to identify smart glasses and how to test them. Earlier, Education Minister Choi Kyo-jin said at a parliamentary audit of the National Assembly's Education Committee on the 7th that he would seek to deprive him of the qualification to take the SAT the following year for cheating using smart glasses.
However, there are concerns that the addition of smart glasses identification could increase the burden on teachers in charge of supervising the test. On the same day, the secondary school teachers' union launched a nationwide teacher signature campaign, calling for the improvement of the structure of excessively relying on individual teachers for the burden of operating the CSAT.
