  • Week 7 of the college football season features several key Big 12 matchups.
  • The headline game pits No. 8 BYU against No. 2 Notre Dame, though BYU's chances are hampered by an injury to running back LJ Martin.
  • Other notable games include Texas Tech seeking revenge against Arizona State and a ranked matchup between Oklahoma State and Houston.
  • Artificial intelligence models predict no upsets this weekend, with Notre Dame heavily favored over BYU.

The college football season is nearing the half way point as we approach Week 7, and there are some really good Big 12 games this week. The headliner is No. 8 BYU hosting No. 2 Notre Dame; it would be a better game if Cougars running back LJ Martin was healthy eough to play. It will fall on the BYU defense if they can pull off the upset.

Other big games include the revenge that Texas Tech will want over Arizona State after the Sun Devild upset them last year. The Red Raiders are a healthy double-digit favorite, but they have looked shaky o offense and their defense is good but not as elite as last season.

Oklahoma State and Houston might just be the game of the week. Both are ranked and the winner could find itself in a good spot for the conference championship game. Houston at home needs to fill its stadium and avoid a second conference loss if it wants to stay in the hunt for its first-ever Big 12 title. Oklahoma State has been on a roll since its season-opener loss.

Then there are few rivalry games with Kansas at Kansas State for superiority in the Sunflower State. Then, Baylor hosting TCU in a rivalry game that has the Bluebonnet Battle trophy on the line.

Then there is the fake rivalry in Utah and Colorado; the Utes should runaway in that game.

As for whwat artificial intelligence says, the computeres don't predict any upsets this weekend. A few interesting results is the projected 17-point Texas Tech win over Arizona State. Also, Utah is projected to not cover but when 91 out of the 100 simulations.

The BYU game does not look good for the Cougars with the Irish projected to win 87 out of 100 times, and yes, this includes injury info with Martin out.
