100 men keep standing for 9 days in Maha to follow a 350-yr-old Navratri tradition
Around 100 men in Maharashtra's Pande village observe a 350-year-old Navratri tradition called Ubhyachi Navratra, in which devotees remain standing for nine days and nights. At the Kalbhairavnath temple, participants rest by leaning against specially hung hammocks called chauphala, keeping one foot on the ground. The vow is taken to fulfil wishes or thank the village deity, Lord Kalbhairavnath.
