SINGAPORE – Media OutReach Newswire – 21 October 2026 – Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how people shop and pay. Because of this, payment companies need to do more than just handle payments. They also need to work more closely with businesses and help them manage their daily work. This was the message from YeahPay, the international payment brand of Yeahka Limited (9923.HK), at the MAG Payments Summit Singapore 2026.

"People are starting to find products, ask questions and place orders all in the same conversation," said David Tay, Global Vice President of YeahPay. "Payments need to fit smoothly into this process instead of being a separate step that interrupts shopping. This changes what businesses need from payment companies."

From AI Helping Shoppers to AI Shopping on Its Own

During a talk called "Agentic Commerce: From Chat to Checkout," Tay explained three stages in how AI is changing shopping:

  1. Assist. AI suggests products, but the customer still pays in the usual way.
  2. Converse. Customers find products, place orders and pay during one conversation. They still need to approve each payment.
  3. Delegate. An AI agent buys things on its own, but only within limits the customer has agreed to in advance.

Many people already use AI to help them shop. Now, shopping through conversations with AI is giving businesses new ways to turn customer questions and interest directly into sales.

The next stage will allow AI agents to start payments without needing people to approve every purchase. For this to work, payment companies will need new technology. They must be able to check that AI agents are who they claim to be, make sure the agents have permission to pay, and build secure payment systems that can handle purchases started by AI agents.

To get ready for this change, YeahPay is studying new rules and technologies for payments made by AI agents. These include ways to check an agent's identity and confirm that it has permission to make payments. YeahPay has also started working with international financial institutions on early tests to see how these technologies could support future AI-powered payments.

From Customer Questions to Completed Sales: How AI Helps Businesses

Businesses are already starting to see how these changes can help them in their everyday work.

Amit Wakharkar, Director of Pre-Sales & Solutions at Fynix, showed an AI-powered shopping and customer service system being used by Vintage Studio, a beauty business in Singapore. Fynix is an AI services brand of Fushi Technology, which is part of Yeahka.

Beauty businesses often face problems such as taking too long to reply to customers, answering the same questions again and again, and spending a lot of time arranging appointments. To help solve these problems, Fynix created a system that connects customer questions, service suggestions, appointment bookings and payments.

Customers can use messaging apps such as WhatsApp to talk with an AI agent. They can ask about services, get suggestions based on their needs, book appointments or buy packages of services in advance. The system then creates orders and secure payment requests automatically. It connects with YeahPay's payment technology so customers can finish paying.

During the trial, the system helped 97 customers who asked questions. Over the past 30 days, these customers and the AI had a total of 221 back-and-forth conversation turns. Businesses using the AI Shop solution have seen customer repeat purchase rates rise by about 15% on average. Their costs for finding and attracting new customers have also fallen by about 30%.

"Businesses don't need another system that only answers customer questions. What really matters is turning those conversations into results that help the business," said Wakharkar. "By connecting AI suggestions, bookings and payments, we can help businesses reply faster, turn more customer questions into sales and manage customer relationships more easily."

These examples show that AI is doing more than answering customer questions. It is becoming part of how businesses work every day, helping them communicate with customers, turn interest into sales and keep good relationships with customers over time.

Bringing Different Technologies Together for the Future of Shopping

For Yeahka, the growth of shopping through AI agents shows why it is becoming more important to connect payment systems with business software and AI technology.

Through YeahPay, the company is continuing to grow its online and in-store payment services in countries around the world. At the same time, Fynix offers software and AI-powered services that help businesses take digital orders, manage customer relationships and answer customer questions. These include software-as-a-service (SaaS) tools, which businesses can use online.

By bringing these services together, Yeahka can help businesses with more of their needs. This includes first connecting with customers, taking payments and managing everyday business activities after a sale.

"The future of payments is not only about how people pay. It is also about how payments fit into the whole shopping experience," Tay said. "As AI plays a bigger role in helping people find products, make choices and buy things, payment companies need to bring together secure payment systems, technology for businesses and smart services."

Yeahka is already using AI-powered conversation systems in real businesses while continuing to develop technology that will allow AI agents to make payments. Through this work, the company is moving beyond simply processing payments and toward offering a wider range of connected services for businesses.

By combining its payment systems, experience helping businesses run their operations and AI technology, Yeahka believes it is in a strong position to meet changing customer needs. The company also sees new chances to grow as AI-powered shopping becomes more common in markets around the world.
