Asshield adds ChatGPT insurance quote requests

Independent insurance agency Asshield Insurance has a ChatGPT app that lets people ask for insurance price quotes. The app collects their requests and sends them to licensed insurance agents, who then contact them.

The app helps people find insurance for personal needs, businesses and recreational activities. This includes car insurance, homeowners insurance, renters insurance, general liability insurance, workers’ compensation, trucking insurance, boat insurance and golf cart insurance. Users enter where they live, their contact details and information about what they want to insure and the possible risks. They can then check their request and must clearly agree before it is sent.

Asshield says a licensed insurance agent usually replies within about one hour during business hours. The agency says it works directly with insurance companies including Progressive, Travelers, GEICO and Liberty Mutual. Its agents decide which companies are a good match for each request.

The ChatGPT app gives people a way to ask Asshield for insurance through a conversation. But Asshield's agents still choose the insurance options and arrange the coverage. Any starting prices shown after a request is sent are only estimates made by the agency. They are not official prices or offers from insurance companies. Insurance coverage starts only when a licensed agent confirms in writing that an insurance company has officially agreed to provide the policy.

Asshield says it is licensed in 12 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
