On October 24, 2026, a search of the SEC EDGAR company database found no matching companies for Anthropic’s S-1 filing. On June 1, Anthropic announced that it had privately submitted a draft Form S-1 for a planned initial public offering (IPO), which is when a company first sells its shares to the public. The company said the offering would depend on market conditions and other factors. It had not yet decided how many shares to sell or what price to set. Anthropic’s announcement explains the private draft filing, while the SEC EDGAR search shows the result dated October 24.

The reported values of Anthropic investors’ stakes are estimates. They are not money earned from a completed IPO. Bloomberg reported that Iconiq had invested more than $6 billion and held a stake worth about $17 billion, based on Anthropic’s latest reported private valuation of $965 billion. Bloomberg said the stake could roughly double in value if Anthropic went public at a valuation of as much as $2 trillion. This is a possible outcome, not a confirmed IPO price or term.

What Bloomberg reported about Anthropic’s investors

In a report published on October 22, Bloomberg cited people familiar with the matter and estimated that Spark Capital’s stake in Anthropic was worth $7 billion. Spark Capital reportedly invested $75 million in 2023. Bloomberg also reported that Sound Ventures invested $35 million in a funding round that valued Anthropic at $5 billion. It later invested another $400 million across additional funding rounds. The report did not give an exact current value for Sound Ventures’ stake.

Bloomberg also reported that Sequoia Capital invested $3 billion for about 1% of Anthropic. Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, GIC, invested more than $4.5 billion for about 1%. Eric Schmidt was reported to own around 1% of the company. On October 22, Newcomer reported that no venture capital firm owned more than 2% of Anthropic. Its report was based on investor documents and people familiar with the funding rounds.

These figures are estimates of ownership in a private company, not profits that investors have already made from an IPO. For another report about a possible public listing, NeoTeo covered reports that Nvidia was considering making a major investment to support the IPO.

What a $2 trillion valuation means in one hypothetical example

A Reddit user tested the possible $2 trillion valuation by using a price-to-earnings ratio of 25. This ratio compares a company’s value with its yearly earnings. The calculation is $2 trillion ÷ 25 = $80 billion in annual net profit. This is a hypothetical example based on the user’s assumption, not a forecast from Anthropic.

Reuters reported that a draft prospectus showed Anthropic had a net loss of $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026. This included a $72 billion accounting charge linked to convertible financing, a type of funding that can later turn into shares. In a separate report, Reuters said Anthropic told potential investors that it was profitable on an adjusted basis in the third quarter of 2026. Adjusted profit and net profit are different measures. Neither figure means Anthropic has forecast the hypothetical $80 billion in yearly net profit.
