Anthropic AI bot accessed public Georgia voter data through state data hub
State officials say the bot used Georgia’s public data hub. They say it did not access the voter file or voter registration system.
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — State officials confirmed that an artificial intelligence bot linked to Anthropic accessed voter data that was publicly available through Georgia’s data hub.
The company and the Georgia secretary of state’s office said the bot did not access the state’s voter file or voter registration system.
“This was publicly available data accessed through our data hub,” said Jordan Fuchs, Georgia’s deputy secretary of state.
According to the Associated Press, Anthropic filed paperwork on Monday to sell shares to the public for the first time. The filing sets the San Francisco company up to begin trading on Wall Street next month. It could be the biggest first-time public stock sale ever.
