Anthropic IPO — AI Startup Files for Nasdaq Listing With Ticker 'ANT'

US artificial intelligence startup Anthropic has publicly filed the paperwork needed to sell shares to the public for the first time, in a process known as an initial public offering (IPO). The company plans to list on the Nasdaq stock market.
Reuters reported on October 26, local time, that Anthropic, which makes the AI chatbot Claude, submitted its registration statement to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This officially begins the process of listing its shares for public trading.
Nasdaq Listing Details and Ticker ‘ANT’
Anthropic is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the stock symbol ‘ANT’. However, the company has not yet announced how many shares it plans to sell or the expected price range for those shares.
According to its registration statement, Anthropic reported revenue of $16.3 billion (about 23 trillion South Korean won) and a net loss of $80.7 billion (about 115 trillion South Korean won) in the first half of this year. Much of the reported net loss came from accounting losses caused by changes in the estimated value of convertible bonds and other financial instruments.
Valuation and Future Outlook
Reuters reported that some investors value Anthropic's enterprise value at about $1.5 trillion. This is lower than the $2 trillion value that had been discussed earlier.
Anthropic first submitted a confidential IPO application to the SEC in June. Making the filing public is an important step toward listing its shares, but the company has not yet set an official date for the IPO.
