  • Micron shares rose 1% in overnight trading, while the South Korea Bull 3X ETF gained nearly 3%.
  • Shares of cloud computing companies also recovered, with CoreWeave and Nebius each gaining about 0.5%.
  • Anthropic made its S-1 filing public on Monday. The filing showed plans to spend $450 billion on cloud computing agreements over the next 7 to 10 years.

Memory chip stocks rose after Anthropic released its filing for a planned initial public offering (IPO). Gains also spread to Asian markets as investors considered the AI company’s fast-growing revenue and large computing commitments, along with its big losses.

Micron (MU) shares rose 1% in overnight trading ahead of Tuesday’s session. In Seoul, shares of SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics rose 5.6% and 4%, respectively, on Tuesday.

South Korea’s Kospi index was up 3% at the time of writing. Earlier, the Korea Exchange activated a “sidecar,” which briefly pauses automated trading when stock futures move sharply. The Direxion Daily South Korea Bull 3X ETF (KORU) rose 2.8% in overnight trading.

Cloud computing companies also recovered. CoreWeave (CRWV) and Nebius (NBIS) each gained about 0.5% in overnight trading, while Alphabet (GOOGL), a major cloud computing company, rose 0.3%. Nvidia (NVDA), Intel (INTC), Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Amazon (AMZN), and Microsoft (MSFT) fell after rising during regular trading on Monday.

Anthropic’s Huge Spending Commitments

Anthropic made its S-1 filing public on Monday. It reported revenue of $16.3 billion for the first half of the year, up from $1.16 billion in the first half of 2025. The company reported a net loss of $80.7 billion, mostly because of a $72.4 billion accounting charge related to convertible notes, a type of debt that can be changed into shares.

However, investors paid close attention to Anthropic’s long-term spending commitments. These payments would go to companies that provide cloud computing and the equipment needed to run AI systems.

Anthropic plans to spend $450 billion on cloud computing agreements over the next 7 to 10 years, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing the filing. The company plans to spend $111 billion on Google cloud computing contracts, $110 billion with Amazon Web Services, and $31 billion with Microsoft, “regardless of actual usage.”

Anthropic will also spend up to $86 billion to rent Nvidia chips from smaller AI cloud providers Nscale and Lambda through 2033 and 2034, respectively. This spending would be in addition to its other cloud computing agreements, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Anthropic’s S-1: Investors and Analysts Mostly Positive

Analysts and investors generally responded positively to Anthropic’s financial results. Some praised how quickly the company was growing and how widely its customer base was spread.

According to the S-1 filing, Anthropic will list its shares on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker symbol “ANT.” The company reportedly plans to begin trading during the week of Nov. 16, The Wall Street Journal reported separately, citing people familiar with the matter.

On Stocktwits, retail investor sentiment toward ANTHZZX and KORU rose from “neutral” the previous day to “extremely bullish.” Meanwhile, sentiment toward OpenAI (OPEAZZX) shifted from “neutral” to “bearish.”

Investor sentiment toward SKHY was “bullish,” while sentiment toward MU was “bearish.” Investors will now watch quarterly reports from several memory chipmakers for more clues about the chip market. Seagate (STX) is scheduled to report on Tuesday, SK Hynix on Wednesday, and Samsung on Thursday.
