Global IT provider establishes dedicated Anthropic unit to build secure, governed Claude solutions for enterprise deployment.

HCLTech has announced a Global Premier Partnership with AI research firm Anthropic aimed at accelerating the enterprise adoption of agentic AI, with a strong focus on safety, cybersecurity, and governance. Under the agreement, HCLTech’s services teams will build tailored industry solutions powered by Claude, Cowork, and Claude Code, while its software division, HCLSoftware, will embed Anthropic’s capabilities directly into its enterprise product suite.

As part of the initiative, HCLTech is establishing a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit alongside a Centre of Excellence (CoE). The new unit will develop agentic AI solutions, offer secure sandbox environments for enterprise deployments of Claude via Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), and help clients adopt AI-native engineering practices, workforce training, and organizational governance.

On the product side, HCLSoftware will integrate Claude capabilities across its cybersecurity, automation, and application development platforms, including HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, while enabling the Actian AI analyst. Additionally, HCLTech will incorporate Claude and Claude Code into its proprietary agentic software engineering platform, AI Force, targeting IT support, code remediation, and digital employee services with policy guardrails, exception handling, and human oversight.

Daniela Amodei, Co-founder and President of Anthropic, emphasized that AI usefulness relies on trustworthiness, noting that the partnership will allow Claude to be securely integrated into sensitive systems across banking, healthcare, telecoms, and manufacturing. C Vijayakumar, CEO & Managing Director of HCLTech, added that combining the scale of a global systems integrator with the depth of an independent software vendor gives the firm a rare advantage to securely engineer and deploy agentic AI at scale.
