Meta on Monday launched Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, its first frontier AI models, claiming they are on par with competing tech from OpenAI and Anthropic.

Both new models “deliver state-of-the-art performance on personal and professional agentic tasks” and can work through problems across expert topics, including law, finance, health, and coding, Meta says.

On a research blog, Meta shared benchmark results comparing its Muse Wonder models to the best from OpenAI and Anthropic, including GPT-6 Astra, Claude Fable 5.1, and Claude Opus 5.5. The results suggest the Muse Wonder Full model can be as good as or better than its rivals in tasks involving personal intelligence, coding, automation, and memory.

Note that these are results from internal tests, and real-world advantages are yet to be evaluated. Muse Wonder is already available to developers via the Meta Model API and Muse Code, while the more powerful Muse Wonder Full model is available to Muse Code subscribers.

The Muse Wonder model will soon power Meta’s Muse AI agent as well. “This is a major step toward personal superintelligence for everyone, with much more to come,” Meta said.

The company developed the frontier models after an overhaul of its AI strategy 14 months ago, a press release notes. Around the same time, Meta acquired Scale AI and appointed its co-founder, Alexandr Wang, as chief AI officer.

Achieving frontier models “required a large amount of compute and investment, and a lot of very rigorous scientific work by the group working on it over an extended period of time,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told the Financial Times on Monday.

Notably, Zuckerberg has stayed out of the broader coalition of tech CEOs, including those at Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google, who are calling for a slowdown in AI development. “Everyone else is focused on more knowledge work, automation-type cases, and we’re much more focused on personal empowerment,” the Meta CEO argues.
