According to Grab 's announcement, the partnership program is expected to train 3,000 freelancers within the Grab ecosystem across Thailand , helping them access new income streams through a series of hands-on workshops on AI. Participants will also receive free access to the ChatGPT Plus package for three months.

The workshops will be conducted through the Grab Driver app. The training content will focus on practical topics such as customer interaction and retention, marketing and branding, personal finance management, and first aid.

Starting with ride-hailing services, Grab later expanded into food delivery, digital payments, and providing business solutions for local small businesses. This leading regional technology group now operates in 8 countries and over 900 cities across Southeast Asia.

The “GO Forward with AI” program, launched in Thailand, is part of an expanding collaboration between Grab and OpenAI, aiming to enhance the skills of over 30,000 freelancers and entrepreneurs in the region over the next two years.

This initiative was first announced last month by Grab and OpenAI. The program started in Singapore and was later expanded to Thailand. According to the two companies, the initiative is expected to be rolled out in Indonesia and the Philippines later this year.

Through its AI training program, Grab expects participants to be able to leverage the capabilities of agent AI, such as assigning AI to perform multi-step tasks, build simple websites, and establish reusable workflows, rather than just using AI to ask individual questions.

In the current context, users are very interested in AI, and many are looking for practical guidance on how to apply this technology appropriately to their work, business operations, and goals.

Therefore, the program aims to build confidence in using AI, whether it's supporting salespeople in making more informed business decisions or providing driver partners with tools to explore new business ideas and create growth opportunities.

As we enter a new era with increasingly advanced AI capabilities, in addition to accessing this technology, people also need the skills and confidence to use AI, adapt to technological changes, and benefit from the advancements it brings.

People across Thailand have begun embracing AI. Through the current "GO Forward with AI" program, the Grab app is expected to deliver practical application skills.

Grab has partnered with OpenAI since 2024 and deployed several AI applications, including an AI assistant for drivers integrated directly into the app. According to Grab, this tool has reached over half a million drivers, helping them find transportation needs, optimize their income, and answer questions arising in their daily work.
