LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — You can now book a room at a Las Vegas resort via ChatGPT.

Rio Hotel & Casino announced that it has launched what it calls the hospitality industry's first fully transactional experience with the generative chatbot.

According to the resort, guests will be able to interact with the resort using natural conversation. This includes booking a suite, requesting housekeeping items, contacting the bell desk, and exploring resort amenities.

The service is powered by Traversing.ai, an orchestration platform that also powers Rio's SMS messaging, website concierge and other guest engagement channels.

"Today's travelers expect instant, personalized service wherever they choose to engage," Vince Lentini, senior vice president of marketing for the Rio, said in a statement. "Our partnership with Traversing.ai allows us to meet guests where they already are while delivering a seamless experience across every touchpoint before, during, and after their stay."

A digital concierge called "Rio Rita" handles all interactions, which the resort says ensures consistent answers and seamless service. This single platform gives the Rio a unified view of guest engagement and reduces operational complexity.

"Rio is setting the pace for the industry by embracing a unified AI platform that supports every guest interaction, whether it's booking a room before arrival or requesting fresh towels during a stay," said Blaire McCoy, Co-Founder & CRO of Traversing.ai. "We're proud to partner with Rio as they continue redefining the modern hospitality experience."
