Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Morgan Stanley have secured the top roles in Anthropic PBC’s upcoming initial public offering (IPO). They have the same roles they held in SpaceX’s record-breaking $86.2 billion stock market listing in June.

As in the SpaceX IPO, Goldman Sachs was named the lead bank in the top position on the left, while Morgan Stanley was named second and will act as the stabilization agent, according to Anthropic’s S-1 filing.

The leading banks in an IPO usually manage the group of banks helping to sell the shares, handle marketing and decide which investors get shares. The stabilization agent oversees the stock market listing and steps in to support the share price if it falls during the first days or weeks of trading.

Twenty other investment banks will also work on the offering. They include JPMorgan Chase & Co., Citigroup Inc., Barclays Plc, Wells Fargo & Co. and Bank of America Corp. SpaceX also chose 22 banks to manage its IPO.

The banks involved in the SpaceX IPO shared a fixed fee of $500 million, equal to 0.58% of the money raised. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley each received $100 million, the largest payments among the banks involved.

According to data collected by Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs is just behind Citigroup in the global IPO rankings this year. Citigroup has helped raise $21.9 billion through 45 IPOs and held one of the lead roles in the US stock market listing of South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix Inc. in July. Morgan Stanley ranks fifth.
