Smart reports, shared budgets, and surveys inside the app are now available to Claude Enterprise customers. They give administrators more ways to track how people use the service and how much it costs.

Anthropic has made three tools available to all Claude Enterprise customers: smart reports, pooled budgets, and in-app surveys. All three tools first became available for testing in September.

This was reported by ZDNET.

Smart reports show what tasks employees use Claude for, how often they do those tasks, and how much they cost. These reports are turned off by default. Anthropic says they can also show where users have problems during sessions and point out tasks that could be turned into regular, repeatable workflows.

Anthropic's documentation says smart reports “aren't designed and should not be used for evaluating individual performance or making employment decisions.”

Pooled budgets let administrators set a monthly spending limit for a group of users, alongside the monthly limit for each individual user account, called a seat. Administrators can use past monthly spending to set both kinds of limits. The feature is meant to stop heavy users from hitting their personal limits too soon while other users leave some of their budgets unused. A user can belong to more than one pooled budget, and administrators can rank these budgets by priority.

With in-app surveys, administrators can ask employees questions about how they use Claude. The surveys appear in Chat, and administrators can see combined results in the Admin console.

Claude Enterprise costs $20 per seat each month, with extra charges for API tokens. Claude Teams also costs $20 per seat, but tokens are included and the service is limited to 150 users. This makes Claude Teams easier for smaller groups to afford.

Companies that have already agreed to spend large amounts on enterprise AI may be able to afford Claude Enterprise. However, the higher total cost also makes their investment more important to justify. The article says these tools could give customers useful information and encourage companies that are deciding whether to keep investing to stay with the service.

Anthropic has been a leader in the enterprise AI market, but OpenAI has caught up in recent months as both companies prepare for initial public offerings (IPOs). New data from Ramp shows that spending on Anthropic reached its highest point in July and has been slightly lower so far in October.

Anthropic filed paperwork for its long-awaited IPO on Monday. In its prospectus, the company wrote:

“If the market for our models, platform, and applications develops more slowly than we expect or declines, our growth may slow or stall, and our business, financial condition, and results of operations could be adversely affected.”
